In this expansion, they zoom in on a lot of new Realms that they didn't have room to feature in the core game. Some of these are Realms that took the center stage at a later date than 1444, some are Realms that had great potential but for various reasons collapsed or faded out of history, and yet others are Realms that had roles to play throughout the EU timeline but never attained the status of great powers – now, you have a chance to defy destiny, and bring these Realms the glory they (perhaps) deserved!

This expansion is going to be jam-packed with cards! With all unlocked Stretch Goals included There will be 240 bridge-size cards and 156 mini-cards, including tons of new Events and Missions, as well as new Action Cards and Milestones! Depending on Stretch Goals, we may still add quite a few more.

There is a new 24-page scenario booklet included with the expansion too (Scenarios IV). With the new scenarios, Realms, and Events, you will have hours upon hours of new gameplay to explore. Additionally, there will be 2 new punchboards with cardboard tokens, 2 new game boards, and a tray with plenty storage room for sleeved cards.

One thing that they have avoided as much as possible, with this expansion, is adding new rules. This decision was both based on their own conclusions and on the feedback that we have received – while there are always those that want them to add more of everything, there are many who think that there is enough to sink their teeth into in the current rule set.

Also, this has allowed them to develop the expansion much faster, and to focus on making content that adds more replayability and variation, rather than more complexity. Of course, there are some cards that add new effects, and, as seen in the Scenarios III booklet, some new scenario-specific rules that spice things up. But that is about how far it goes.

Flavor Pack 2: Holy Roman Empire contains 9 new HRE-themed Events, with 5 of them being alternative Events for Austria, and 4 of them being generic Events that brings more life to this region of the map. These Events will let you shake up those familiar opening moves in the "Discovery & Reformation" scenario and Grand Campaign, or you can use them to create your own HRE-focused custom scenario.
